In order to use the terrain sustainably from the very beginning, the existing trees will be generally left in place. Economical and renewable energy processes, such as geothermal energy, and ecological and recyclable products have deliberately been selected.
NATURE CONVERSATION MEASURES BY STOFANEL:
The trunks of protected trees were covered with wooden cladding before the building phase to protect them during building work.
Endangered root areas are given a so-called “root curtain” as well as protection against being driven over.
Tree care measures including cutting, treatment of knotholes and bracing wire to ensure that existing trees are protected as much as possible.
In close cooperation with landscape architects and the nature conservation authorities, individual trees which cannot be kept alive any longer will be cut down.
By planting more than 50 new trees, STOFANEL makes up for this loss whilst creating a new plant kingdom at the same time.
STOFANEL has built ca. 60 nesting boxes to protect bird and bat species.
SUSTAINABLE BUILDING IN THE TILIA LIVING RESORT:
The location of all the villas, houses, paths and roads on the building site will continue to be adapted to suit the existing tree stock.
Most of the flat roofs will be fully covered with greenery.
A lake landscape will be incorporated in the middle of the TILIA Living Resort as a wetland area which will create new habitat for animals and plants.
